Elsie Mae Fugate, 98

Mrs. Elsie Mae Fugate, 98, of the Lucky Community passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at her residence. She was born on July 1, 1927 to parents Grover Alton Womack and Verdie Mae Kelley Womack. She was a retired receptionist at Western Union and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She found great joy in crocheting and quilting and made many beautiful pieces. She loved the outdoors and took great pride in her flowers and yard. Everyone loved her pecan pies and snickerdoodle cookies.

 She is survived by her sister Remonia Smith and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Bryan Fugate, sisters Mabel Gibson and Dima Craddock, and brothers Jesse Womack, Clarence Womack, Wilburn Womack, Billy Womack, and Ralph Womack.

Funeral service for Mrs. Elsie is scheduled for noon Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Ronald Ralph and Jerry Womack will officiate. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 an.m. until noon at McMinnville Funeral Home.
