Crestview, Fla. resident and McMinnville native Glenda Sue Cantrell, 84, was born March 4, 1942 and died Sept. 5, 2026 at Eden at Crestview Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A retired employee with the Warren County Sheriff's Department and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late J.P. Stubblefield and Vera Velma Argo Starkey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Royce Cantrell; brother-in-law, Clifford Starkey and daughter-in-law, Faye Stacy.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by children, Dondi (Geno) Volz of McKinney, Texas, Rick Stacy of Rock Island, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Sean (Tamara) Curtis of Crestview, Fla., Lt. Col. (Ret.) Shane (Debbie) Curtis of Lansing, Kan.; grandchildren, Ricky Lynn Stacy (Laura), Ian Cathcart (Krystal), Alex Cathcart (Misha), Jack Curtis (Sarah), Capt. Max Curtis (Molly), Paul Curtis, McKenna Curtis, and Mariah Curtis; sister, Khyva Starkey of McMinnville; niece Dondi Starkey of Jonesville, S.C., and nephew, Derrick Starkey (Amanda) of McMinnville, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Emmalyne France of Smithville and Melinda Young of Crossville.
Graveside service and interment will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Hebron Cemetery with Jon Simmons officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at High’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Warren County Genealogical Society, Meals on Wheels or Hospice Foundation of America.
