After a break for the holidays, Sparta Youth Basketball was back on the courts across White County on Saturday.
In the Rookie League, American Pharma Solutions battled to a 2-2 tie, partly in thanks to Rylie Sasso whose defense was on fire, and Victory Lawn Care came away with a two-point win after Lennon Molina hit a game winning shot. Rocky Pop Co posted a 20-2-win thanks to16 points from Cameron Walker and another four from Emery Jones who found the basket for the first time this year. Spartan Services got their first win of the year, an 8-2 victory over Christpoint Church. Brayded Williams scored six of the eight points for the winning team while Zaeden Wright scored the only points for Christpoint while Thomas Steelman put up a huge defensive effort.





In the Training League Girls division, it was Sonic coming away with a 7-4 win over Whitetail Property while Delaney Logging took a 9-3 win over American Roofing Company in what could have been one of the most exciting games of the day. Mattie Miller came up with a big steal to seal the victory after Harper scored her first point of the season for American Roofing Co. Sullivan’s Disposal posted a 12-point win to round out the action in this division.
Over on the Training League Boys’ courts, things were intense. Rawly-Mae Farms lost a close 13-11 contest but stayed competitive thanks to multiple rebounds by Winston Davis. Edd Rogers didn’t get a win this week, but Jaxon Buchanan’s hustle had him leading the team in steals and forcing their opponents to have to work for the win. Spartan Services had a double header and came away with split results: after posting a 12-7 win in game one, they dropped their second game of the day by a single point. Levi Morgan and CJ Henderson led Spartan Services in scoring while Jonah Humphrey shut out posts in both games.
There were four games played in the Junior Girls division this week. True North lost a nail-biter, falling 22-21, but Hadley Sims put up nine points from the point guard position. First Class Auto ran away with their game against Southern Roots Salon as Kylie McCulley put up 10 points and London Green scored another eight in their 22-7 win. However, Emmy Faye Allen put up a fight for Southern Roots as she hustled on both sides of the ball.


The game between Napa Auto Parks and K & J Electric got intense. K & J Electric only had five players available, and at one point was only able to put three on the court. Napa Auto Parts, who was trailing, went with a full court press in an attempt to gain some ground on the scoreboard. However, K & J Electric was able to break through the press and push down court for the score. For Napa Auto Parts, it was Regan Measles who led the team in scoring, dropping eleven points through the net before fouling out in the third quarter. K & J Electric came away with a 29-21 win.
American Roofing Company’s Junior Boys team played twice on Saturday, taking wins both times. In their second game, a 31-27 win, Benton Keith came away with 22 points, 13 rebounds, three steals, and a pair of blocks. Other action saw Walker falling to Johnson while Collins took a 43-29 win over Bechtal. Smith defeated Murphy, Lumpkin took the win over Young, Walker came away with a 15-point victory, and Hitchcock put up 50 points to get the win over Flatt.

There were just two games in the Senior Girls division. American Roofing Company put up a huge 49-22 win over Absolute Care thanks in part to Kenzie Qualls who is playing in her first-ever year of basketball. Rodgers Farm squeaked out a 22-21 win after Treah Powell was an absolute wall on defense.



In Senior Boys action, it was Flatt taking a win over American Roofing Company, and Angell getting a win over Collins while Weldon took a 12-point victory over Gooch. Hart posted a 49-22-point win over Sliger and then got back on the court to squeak out a one-point win over Smith in their second game of the day.
