Isabel Wanamaker, 85

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Isabel Wanamaker, 85, was born April 25, 1940 and died June 16, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness.

A nursery worker, Mrs. Wanamaker was the daughter of the late Newton Alex and Rose Lee King. She was married to Gerald Jakie Wanamaker who preceded her in death on February 22, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Patsy Nelson, Janie Hampton and Lottie King; brothers, Dewey, James and Eb King; grandchild, Amanda Wanamaker and great-grandchild, Joseph Austin.

Mrs. Wanamaker is survived by daughter, Rhonda (Clay) Lewis of McMinnville; son Randy (Brenda) Wanamaker of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Gail Wanamaker, Tisha Parker and Kristy Dodson; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joe King of Beersheba Springs and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Dal Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
