Granite City, Ill. resident and Madison, Ill. native John Lewis Kamacho, 61, was born April 14, 1964 and died Feb. 18, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. following an extended illness.
A deli manager with Kroger, a fisherman, dirt track racing fan, a fan of the University of Tennessee and a member of the Christian Faith, he was the son of the late Joe and Minnie Clementine Kamacho. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Cecelia Kamacho.
Mr. Kamacho is survived by his sons, Zacharey and Jonothan Kamacho, both of Goodlettesville, Tenn.; mother of his children, Phyllis Gribble Kamacho of Goodlettesville, Tenn.; sister, Marguerita Skipper; brothers, Joe, George and Chris Kamacho; girlfriend Cathy Carper; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek in Warren County with Samuel Bain officiating. There will be no visitation at High's.
