Rain or shine, Main Street Live will kick off its 2025 summer concert series Friday at 7 p.m. at Security Federal Savings Bank's West Lawn. After two false starts in which the first two scheduled weeks of the season have been canceled due to rain, Legacy, a classic rock band, will get the popular free event underway regardless of weather thanks to a contingency plan.

This week, the Park Theater is available as a backup plan in case rain again puts a damper on MSL's traditional West Lawn home, but Main Street McMinnville organizers are hopeful for a dry Friday. The Park isn't always available as an alternative due to other bookings, but the theater is an option this week and July 18 if needed. At the time of this writing, Accuweather paints a sunny picture for Friday, calling for a "mostly sunny and beautiful" day with a high of 88 degrees and a 1% chance of precipitation.

"We are so excited to finally kick off the summer after two weeks of cancelations," Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Jennifer Flatt Meredith said. "And we're thrilled to do it with classic rock favorites from Legacy."

"We are excited to come to McMinnville to perform at Main Street Live," Jeff Stout of Legacy said. "We have been looking forward to this for quite some time. We will be playing the best classic rock from mainly the '70s and some '80s, covering bands such as Journey, ZZ Top, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Led Zeppelin, Tom
Petty, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd and more. We're looking forward to a great crowd
that's ready to have an awesome time. Get ready to rock!"

The members of Legacy have been performing together for over a decade and are prepared to bring a high-energy, finely tuned show to McMinnville.

"Music is our passion and we love what we do. All the members are on the
same page and want the same results - being the best that we can possibly be and entertaining as many people as we can," Stout said.

Organizers are hoping for the best weather-wise but are grateful for the option to ensure the show will go on.

"The forecast looks hot and sunny, just how we like it," Meredith said. "But thanks to the city, we have the Park Theater as a backup if needed. The Park Theater isn't always available as a backup since we rely on the city to generously waive the rental fees. Plus, the Park stays busy with great entertainment, which is such a win for our community. Either way this week, the show goes on! Bring a chair and join us for a rockin' good time in downtown McMinnville."

Vendors will open at 6 p.m. while the show starts at 7 p.m. In the event the show is moved to the Park Theater, vendors will not be available, but attendees are encouraged to grab a pre-show meal at any of the local downtown restaurants.

Main Street Live is presented by Main Street McMinnville and is sponsored by Main Street Media, Security Federal Savings Bank, Main Street McMinnville, Bridgestone, McMinnville Electric System, Scooter's Coffee, Dr Pepper, Ben Lomand Connect, Law Offices of Galligan & Newman, Warren County, City of McMinnville, The Cafe at Tree City, The Butcher and Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District.
