McMinnville resident and Warren County native Leonard Edward Luna, 94, was born Nov. 8, 1931 and died March 7, 2026 at his residence.
A veteran of the United States Army, retired Captain with the McMinnville Fire Department and of the Baptist faith, he was the son of the late John and Alice Young Luna. He was married to Eva Elizabeth Cantrell Luna on March 13, 1989 who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Tony Luna; grandchildren, Gregory Graham and Tyler Graham; sons-in-law, Rex Graham and Earl McCarty; brothers, Will Luna, James Luna and Arie Luna and sisters, Cloie Keith, Mattie Franks and Alma Jaco.
Mr. Luna is survived by children, Tina (Scott) Thomas, Tammy McCarty and Terri (Howard) Templeton, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Amy Lynn Templeton (Jason) Jones, Jaclyn (Corey) Davis, Josh Graham, Mike (Shirley) McCarty and Marrita (Chelsey) McCarty; great-grandchildren, Kassie, Laklyn, Kayleigh, Natalya, Mia, Kiptyn, Briggs and Mayson; caregivers, Jackie McCarty, Rachel McCoy, Pam Lance and Sonya Reese and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Jefferson Cemetery in Dekalb County with Anthony Campbell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at High’s.
Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
