Marion Edgar Measels, 89

Rock Island resident and Cass County, Ind. native Marion Edgar Measels, 89, was born April 16, 1936 and died March 14, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family, following an extended illness.

A U.S. Army veteran of Korea, self-employed farmer in Culver, Ind., and truck driver, he also built the Measels Terrace View Estates mobile home park in Rock Island. He was the son of the late William Edgar and Dorothy Mae Spencer Measels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Sharon Hopkins Measels; brother, Robert Finley Measels; nephew, Bradley Wayne Measels and niece, Lori Diane Measels.

Mr. Measels is survived by daughters, Mari Lynn (Scott) Craft of Culver, Ind.and Jonnie Sue (Kevin) Niemi of Hurley, Wis.; grandchildren, Cory Craft of Germany and Sarah Craft of Culver, Ind.; sister, Janice Kay Hunt of Rock Island; mother of his children, Linda Rae Herriott of Culver, Ind., and several nephews.

A graveside service and interment will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Mt. View Cemetery. There will be no visitation at High’s.

Full military honors will be administered by the United States Army.
