McMinnville resident and Sparta native Mary Etta Cantrell, 91, was born March 22, 1934 and died December 4, 2025 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness.

A homemaker and of the Baptist faith, she was the daughter of the late James and Lula Fuqua Rollins. She was married to William “Dude” Norman Cantrell, II on January 16, 1955 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Mickie Cantrell; grandson, T.C. Ward; sisters, Janie Barnes and Juanita Jones and brother, Jim Rollins.

Mrs. Cantrell is survived by children, Lori (Ricky) Smith and Buddy Cantrell, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Shay (Justin) Tanner, Brittany Smith (Michael Reagan), Ally Smith (Kyle Rossi), Cory (Nicolle) Cantrell and Will Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Briar (Summer) Ward, Logan Earls, Wyatt Tanner, Caroline Tanner, Maverick Reagan and Naudia Stalcup; great-great-grandchildren, Harper Ward and Daylan Tomas and sister, Kathey (Jerry) Hudson of McMinnville.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Bon Air Cemetery in White County with Jerry Hudson officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
