PHOTOS: Monster trucks roar into fair opening night

Opening night at the White County Agricultural Fair brought a little bit of everything Friday — tradition, recognition, monster trucks and plenty of fair fun.

The night began with the fair’s opening ceremony as Fair Board President Mike Wilson welcomed the community and thanked the sponsors, volunteers and board members who make the fair possible. The White County High School choir sang the national anthem, and pageant queens were on hand as State Rep. Paul Sherrell and County Executive-elect Kyle Goff joined Wilson in welcoming the crowd.

The Fair Board honored Barbara McCulley as Past Fair Board Member of the Year for the countless hours she has devoted to the fair and its programs over the years.

Then it was time to make some noise.

Monster trucks sent dirt flying as they launched through the air, while across the fairgrounds the midway lit up and food booths stayed busy throughout the night.
