·       The Warren County Health Council will meet on Aug. 12, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Warren County Administration Building in the Magnolia Room, located at 201 Locust Street, McMinnville, TN. This gathering is focused on community-led efforts to address local health needs and priorities, with opportunities for networking and collaboration. The meeting will emphasize increasing access to care and social services while promoting the overall health and well-being of Warren County residents.

·       The public is invited to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Fly-In Breakfast Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Warren County Memorial Airport, located at 48 W. Airport Rd. Weather permitting, the Young Eagle Program will provide a free first airplane ride and some classroom instruction for kids who have signed up in advance. Breakfast begins at 7:30, and ends at 10 a.m. It includes pancakes, both blueberry and regular, as well as sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, drinks and more for $10. The event is a 501(c)3 fundraiser for the local EAA chapter and the proposed Aviation Leadership Academy.

·       The Black History Museum of Warren County, TN will hold a fundraiser yard sale Saturday, Aug. 23, at their location at 203 W. Main St. For more information, call 931-304-8851.

·       The Warren County Genealogical Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, Aug. 16, from 2-4 p.m. at the County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. The WCGHS meets the third Saturday of each month offering a different program or speaker. ·       Caring Hearts United’s monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 6-7 p.m. at 352 S. Chancery St., Suite 4. CHU is a nonprofit organization that assists hospice units in Warren and surrounding counties. They are always looking for new volunteers and members. ·       The Warren County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, July 21, from 6-7 p.m. in the early voting room of the Warren County Administration Building on Locust St. The group meets the third Thursday of each month to promote personal liberties and conservative values, as well as discuss and execute ideas to elect conservatives to local city and county government.

·       Families in Crisis – New Beginnings will host its bi-monthly sexual assault support group meeting Thursday, Aug. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at 101 W. Main St. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. Come feel at home with other survivors, receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem, and learn coping skills to empower them, for wherever they are in their journey.

·       The Warren County Master Gardeners’ Association will meet Thursday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. The WCMGA meets the third Thursday of each month, gathering at the fairgrounds during summer months and at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building during the rest of the year. ·       The Warren County Health Department will host a Community Baby Shower on Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Three Star Mall, located at 1410 Sparta Street in McMinnville. This free event will provide valuable prenatal information, along with giveaways and light refreshments for attendees. No registration is required to attend. ·       Van Buren County will host “Hometown Heroes Day” on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds. This free public event honors and supports the county’s volunteer first responders. Activities will include food, games, live music, a basic first aid class, and a First Responders Award Ceremony. While admission is free, donations are welcome, with all proceeds going directly to support VBC Volunteer First Responders. The event offers a fun, family-friendly atmosphere while recognizing the dedication and service of local emergency personnel.

·       The Kevin Bouldin Memorial Youth Coon Hunt will take place on October 18, 2025, with registration from 4-5 p.m. at the Van Buren County Justice Center, located at 121 Taft Drive in Spencer, TN. The event is open to youth ages 17 and under and participants must return by midnight. Hunters must be accompanied by an adult, and all applicable state wildlife laws and hunter education requirements will apply. Hunters and dogs will not be provided. Donations of prizes or monetary contributions are welcomed, with contacts listed including Jill Bouldin, Lakelyn Stoglin, Layla Bouldin, Monroe Mooneynam, and Jessica Walling. ·       The Small Town Truck Meet has been rescheduled for Nov. 8, 2025, at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds. Organized by Ashley Roberts, the event is a fundraiser to support two individuals who were recently injured in an accident. All proceeds will go directly toward their hospital bills and other essential needs. The gathering is expected to include music, food, games, and potentially a burnout pit, pending county approval. Attendees are encouraged to come out and show support for friends and family while enjoying a community-centered celebration of trucks and local spirit.

·       The Van Buren Prevention Coalition presents the Ribs for Recovery Smoke-Off at Recovery Fest Saturday, Sept. 20. The event includes a BBQ Smoke-off competition for both ribs and BBQ dishes, as well as a cornhole tournament. The event raises awareness for drug and tobacco prevention, community recovery efforts, positive, healthy lifestyle choices, connection, fun and education. ·       Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
