Drivers traveling through one of Sparta's busiest school traffic corridors will notice a significant change beginning this week.

The City of Sparta is completeing the installation of a new three-way stop at the intersection of Turntable Road and Sewell Drive, just in time for the start of the 2026-27 school year. The change comes after residents raised concerns with the Sparta Board of Mayor and Aldermen earlier this month about the difficulty of making a left-hand turn from Turntable Road onto Sewell Drive during peak traffic times.
