McMinnville resident and Warren County native Norma Dosha Bates, 87, was born April 2, 1938 and died Dec. 7, 2025 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Dillard’s, former owner of Dairy Twist in McMinnville and a member of Mountain Leo Church of Christ, Mrs. Bates was the daughter of the late James Louie and Willie Mable Hobbs Dodson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and Gary (Gail) Dodson; sister, Yvonne Drake and sons-in-law, Marek Sadlon and William Carl Roberts.
Mrs. Bates is survived by children, Tamela Roberts, Gregory Alan Bates and Jennifer Fults, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Blake (Tiffany) Sadlon, Marek (Megan) Sadlon, Chandler Roberts and Clinton Bates and Jose Bates; great-grandchildren, Lake Sadlon, Faith Sadlon, Marek Sadlon Jr., Memphis Sadlon and Maely Sadlon; brother, Fred (Darlene) Dodson of Nashville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Trent Key and Dusty Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
