One Bank fundraiser brings in $10,255 for WCHS band

One Bank of Tennessee is celebrating 125 years of service to their customers. One Bank – Sparta Branch Manager Vanessa O’Neal contacted WCHS Principal Greg Wilson about partnering for a Celebration Fundraiser. One Bank would match donations to a selected group at a wonderful 125% of contributions up to $5000.

WCHS Marching Band agreed to take on the challenge to join the partnership for the fundraiser. Under the direction of Band Director Laiton Pigg and the Band Boosters, the members of the band began spreading the word. Donations from individuals and different groups began arriving at One Bank. A donation from the Cavalier Band from Cookeville High School was also among those donating during the challenge.

When the last day of the 125 Year Celebration arrived, O’Neal completed a tabulation and WCHS Band had surpassed the goal and One Bank prepared the final check. WCHS was presented a giant check for $10,255. WCHS would like to thank Mrs. O’Neal and her staff for assisting our band with their goal of providing our community with a wonderful band program.
