
Rock Island resident and Cannon County native Ricky Lee Henderson, 64, was born September 23, 1960 and died August 11, 2025 at NHC Healthcare in Sparta following an extended illness.
A retired employee of the Carrier Corporation and a member of the Baptist church, he was the son of the late Oscar S. and Allie Elizabeth “Peggy” Cooper Henderson, Jr.
He was married to Brenda Henderson of Rock Island on November 22, 1978. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Mr. Henderson is survived by daughter, Lauren (Jonny) Vazquez of the Centertown Community; three grandchildren, Michael, Sebastian and Leon; three brothers, Terry Henderson and Jerry Henderson, both of Rock Island and Charles (Button) Cooper of Auburntown; sister, Rita (Ronnie) Rogers of Bradyville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul Edward (Janice) Ward of Smithville, Kenneth (Audrey) Ward of Rock Island, David (Teresa) Ward of McMinnville, Thurman Lynn (Lori) Ward of Pikeville, James Ray Ward of N.C., Timothy Austin Ward of Rock Island and Martha Braswell and Linda (Tommy) Thompson, both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Charles Dotson and David Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
