McMinnville resident and Syracuse, NY native Robert “Bob” Charles Sauer, Jr., age 81, was born October 8, 1944 and died November 27, 2025 at NHC McMinnville following an extended illness.

The owner of Pro-Pack, Inc. and an active member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, he was the son of the late Robert Charles and Mary A. Miller Sauer, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard J. and Gary Sauer.

Mr. Sauer is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Marlene Anne Sauer. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sauer is survived by daughter, Maureen Basedow-Schafer (Richard) of Germany; sons, Steven Sauer and Todd C. (Stephanie) Sauer, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Nadja Schafer, Robert Austin (Brittney) Sauer, Kirkland (Maya) Sauer, Jackson Sauer and Courtlyn (Devin) Terry; great-grandchildren, Lucas Sauer, Amelia Denning Sauer, Blaze, Briggs and Bowen Terry; sisters, Janet Weeks of Canastota, NY and Patricia Wameling of Lavergne, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2025 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with Father Bala officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High’s and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at St. Catherines Catholic Church.

Marlene would like to give special thanks to Steven, Todd, Stephanie and the grandchildren for the special care they took of Bob during his illness. The family would also like to thank NHC McMinnville for their wonderful service and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Kids of the Community or the Ronald McDonald House.
