Sign of change?

A new “McMinnville Marketplace” sign has been erected at Plaza Shopping Center prompting questions of whether a name change is coming to the venerable shopping center.

The new sign is located between Walgreens and Saki Japanese Steakhouse and is positioned alongside Bobby Ray Memorial Pky. The sign includes spaces for store logos with “1100” underneath them. The Plaza Shopping Center’s address is 1100 Smithville Hwy.

The traditional McMinnville Plaza sign remains alongside Smithville Hwy. although the digital message board is not currently on.

The Main Street Journal has contacted several current Plaza tenants who were unaware of an impending change. The Journal has also reached out to McMinnville Community Partners, LLC, a subsidiary of Anchor Investments of Nashville which bought the Plaza in November 2025 for comment. The Journal will have more information as it becomes available.
