A Sparta man originally indicted on aggravated rape charges has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after entering a guilty plea to a reduced charge in White County Criminal Court.

On Friday, Jonathan Corey Hale Hooper pleaded guilty before Judge Wesley Bray to one count of Facilitation of Aggravated Rape, a Class B felony, under an amended indictment. The plea stems from a 2023 case that resulted in a White County Grand Jury indictment against Hooper and co-defendant Robert Lynn Presley.
