Manchester resident and Loretto, Tenn. native Stella Marie Landtroop Barnes, 91, was born April 11, 1934, and died Jan. 26, 2026, at Manchester Center for Rehabilitation and Healing following an extended illness.
A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Coleman Christopher and Clara Mary York Landtroop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thurman Barnes; brothers, James and Junior Landtroop and sister, Annie Bell Holland.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her sons, Wayne (LaDonna) Barnes of Murfreesboro and Stephen Barnes of Manchester; daughter, Wanda Marie Barnes of Manchester; grandsons, Asher (David) Caldwell and Sean (Kara) Barnes; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Camden Barnes; sister, Louise Harper of the Campaign Community; brother, Doris (Belinda) Landtroop of Lewisburg and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment will be noon Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Morrison Cemetery with Dustin Stoetzel officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from boo. until 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at High's.
