McMinnville resident and Warren County native Steven Jeffery "Red" Powers, age 70, was born Nov. 7, 1955 and died Dec. 31, 2025 at his residence.
Jeff was the co-owner of Powers Construction, owner of Red's Custom and Performance and the retired owner of Red's Custom Auto. He was the son of the late Rufus Pitts and Josephine Haston Powers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Courtney Shae Beaty; brothers, Don Powers, Howard Powers, Sidney Powers and Larry "Yogi" Powers; sister, Joyce Reed; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.C. and Shirley Ware; sister-in-law, Cathy Talley; brother-in-law, Kelly Ross; three nieces and two nephews.
He was married to Jackie Ware Powers of McMinnville. In addition to Jackie, he is survived by his grandson, Eli Beaty; siblings, Diane (Felix) Mullican, Lynn Knight (Steve Byars), Vernon (Mia-Lan) Powers, Clayton (Diana) Powers and Rickey (Debbie) Powers; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ware, John (Donna) Ross and Joe (Hassie) Ross; sister-in-law, Sandra Burger (Billy Pittard) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 at Faulkner Cemetery @ Pike Hill with Danny Higgins and Brett Merritt officiating. Red's request was to be buried at 5 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the service. There will be no service or visitation at High's.
