They’re ’Already There’

If you build it, they will come.

That saying proved true in the classic film “Field of Dreams” and it also holds true when the Warren County A&L Fair builds out its entertainment schedule each year.

Tonight, Thursday, Sept. 17, is free concert night with local band Ninth Sun scheduled to open the show at the Clifford McClain Grandstands at 5:30 p.m. The main event will be country music group Lonestar, scheduled to take the stage at 7 p.m.

Lonestar, known for hits such as "I'm Already There," "Amazed," "No News," "Come Cryin' to Me," "Smile," "My Front Porch Looking In" and many more, will fill the role last served by fellow country band Diamond Rio who drew a standing-room-only crowd to last year's fair. The band, comprised of Dean Sams, Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater and Drew Womack, has landed 22 top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with 10 reaching No. 1.

As of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the band’s crew was setting up the stage with several concert attendees already staking out their spots. Fair goers are encouraged to prepare to arrive early. Last year’s Thursday night concert created traffic troubles with cars reportedly backed up to Angels Bridge attempting to get to the fair.
