Months’ worth of blood, sweat and tears — but especially blood — were on display Friday night as the Warren Arts production of “Little Shop of Horrors“ opened at McMinnville’s Park Theater.
The musical revolves around a down-on-his-luck flower shop employee who discovers a mysterious plant from outer space which feeds on human blood. The dark comedy features a talented local cast and employs use of spectacular props, including a massive puppet of Audrey II, the blood-thirsty plant.

The cast and crew include Carter Cantrell, Seymour; Mary Wanamaker, Audrey; Lucas Patterson, Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS; Robert Elam, Mr. Mushnik; Cecilia Hunt, Audrey II, ensemble, choreography; Rob Nunley, voice of Audrey II; Delanie Sullivan, Crystal; Amanda Collier, Chiffon; Sally Rogers, Ronnette; Sarah Woodriff, ensemble; Kathy Elam, ensemble, costumer; Mary Wanamaker and Marc Pyburn, musical directors; Sara Nuckols, stage manager; Jay Williams, Collin West, Bri Phillips, tech crew; Russell Hudgins, Dana Sexton, Holly McNeal, stage crew.

The show is highlighted by several show-stopping musical numbers including a dynamic duet from Cantrell and Wanamaker on “Suddenly Seymour“ and Numley and Carter teaming up for “Feed Me, Seymour.”

“A presentation of a PG-13 cult-classic musical by an adult cast is a nice change of pace and another example of the variety of entertainment we are proud to offer here,” Park Theater Manager Joe Harvey said.
Three chances to catch the show remain: Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets for the show, which lasts approximately two hours and fifteen minutes with an intermission, are $20 plus tax and are available at the Park Theater website, and at the door beginning approximately one hour before each show.
