TN Revolution is making a major shift this spring and local basketball families have one more weekend to secure a spot.
After spending the last five to six years traveling most weekends as a boys AAU program, TN Revolution is turning its spring focus toward development with a new boys league based at Boyd Christian School. The 2026 Revolution Boys Spring League is open to current fourth through eighth grade boys, but registration closes Monday, February 16.
“We don’t want this to be a financial burden on families. We want to give kids the opportunity to get in the gym, work on their skills and improve their basketball game,” said co-founder and former college basketball player Trey Cantrell. “We hope to see everybody want to get involved with us.”
Cantrell and the Boyd High School boys coaching staff will operate the league, which will feature 5–6 Saturday-morning games beginning in late March. Dustin Curtis and Mitchell Young, longtime youth coaches and the current head coach and assistant coach of the Boyd Broncos, respectively, are also co-founders.
Coaches from across the county will also be involved, giving players instruction from a wide mix of experienced voices.
Cantrell stressed that this league isn’t meant to be a replacement for rec ball or the city league. It’s meant to fill the offseason gap by giving players a focused environment to sharpen the fundamentals they learned during the school year.
“It’s not an alternative of the city league or a new rec league. This is purely a development league. We’ve designed it to hone in on skill building, which is the goal of the offseason. We want them to build on the things they worked through during the school season and help build for the next school season,” Cantrell said.
The league has already drawn strong interest - 57 players have signed up - but TN Revolution is still seeking more seventh and eighth graders before Monday’s deadline. The Cost is $30. Admission will be $2 on game days, with school-aged kids getting in for free.
Registration remains open on the league’s Facebook page. Spots are limited and this is the final chance for spring sign-ups.
