It was an easy night for the White County Warriors as they traveled to Overton County to take on Livingston Academy. The Wildcat squad is filled with 10 freshmen, two sophomores, and one junior after circumstances they faced early in the year forced them to rework their roster.
The closest the game would get would be when the Wildcats and the Warriors were tied at seven. After that Sparta would run away with it jumping out to a 20-point lead at halftime. That deficit would jump up to 31 by the end of the game as White County defeated Livingston Academy 59-28.
Eight different Warriors would find the scorer’s sheet with Tucker Pinion, Mason Steele, and Lukas Smith scoring in double-digits. The junior and two seniors were able to score 15 points, 12 points, and 10 points, respectively. On Livingston's side, Jonathan Ford and Jacob Copeland led in scoring, pulling in five points apiece.
The Warriors move to 14-5 on the season and more importantly get their first district win of the year. That win moved Sparta up to fourth in the district standings with their record now sitting at 1-3.
White County is scheduled to play in Jamestown against York on Monday, however with the threat of inclement weather that could be subject to change. Statuses regarding next week's schedule will be announced on Main Street Journal - Sparta and 92.7 YERT FM's Facebook pages when they become available.
