Sparta
The White County Warriors didn’t just pick up their fourth straight win Tuesday night - they walked into Smithville and dictated every moment of a 62–42 statement victory.
Cole Sims was relentless, pouring in 23 points, while Jack Carpenter matched the intensity with 21, attacking from everywhere on the floor. Tucker Pinion delivered as well with 11 points as the Warriors improved to 6-1 overall.
From the opening minutes, Sparta made it clear the Tigers were in for a long night. Carpenter and Pinion splashed early threes to fuel a 19–9 burst, and the Warriors never looked back. By halftime, they had blown the game wide open, turning stops into scores and building a commanding 34–14 lead.
When the third quarter opened, White County pushed the margin to 20 again at 44–24, but DeKalb County finally showed signs of life. The Tigers chipped away, cut the deficit to 11, and had the gym stirring with hope of a late push. But that was as close as they’d get.
The Warriors slammed the door.
Sparta regrouped, controlled the pace and finished the night the way it started - in complete command. Only four Warriors scored, but every one of them came up big. Senior Lukas Smith, in his final trip to Smithville, added seven and helped steady the team during DeKalb’s brief run.
Next up for Sparta is a quick turnaround against a familiar foe. The Warriors host Chattanooga Christian Friday - the same Chargers team Sparta handled 70–42 earlier this month in Chattanooga. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Row Sewell Gym.
