The first response Lakelyn Grasty had in her post game interview with 92.7 YERT FM was, "We got our get back!"

White County got their get back knocking down Upperman with a final score of 59-44 Friday night at White County High School. Friday's contest was the polar opposite of the one fans saw when the Warriorettes that took the court in Baxter on January 9. During that game three weeks ago Sparta was in foul trouble, made no three pointers, and couldn't score above 41 points. This time around Sparta looked right at home offensively while holding the Lady Bees under 45 points for the second straight time.

The Warriorettes made their mark in the first half going up 33-14 after the first two frames. The end of the first half saw Bella Winningham make the Roy almost lose its roof after draining a three that would have been good in any level of basketball game played on Friday night.

Coach Michael Dodgen spoke with 92.7 YERT FM saying he wasn't too happy with how Sparta played in the third quarter. That would be the best quarter Upperman would have as they made the game closer heading into the fourth quarter. However, the fourth quarter went according to plan for Sparta, and the Warriorettes walked away with the season series split with Upperman.

White County had three Warriorettes score in double-digits with Gracie Clark leading the way with 22 points. Winningham was able to knock down 14 points and junior Ashlynn Selby had 12 points on the night. Only one Lady Bee scored in double-digits as Taylor Dolente dropped in 14 points.

The Warriorettes improved to 23-3 on the season, but most importantly improve to 4-1 in district play giving them the sole lead in the district standings. Upperman goes from first to the third after Stone Memorial defeated Livingston Academy Friday night. White County and Stone have the same district record but the Warriorettes currently have the tie-breaker over the Lady Panthers.

The district standings are now: #1 White County (4-1), #2 Stone Memorial (4-1), #3 Upperman (3-2), #4 Cumberland County (2-2), #5 Livingston Academy (0-5).

It doesn't get any easier for White County as the Warriorettes have two big trips to Crossville on Tuesday and Friday next week. Tuesday sees the top two district teams, White County and Stone Memorial, take the court. Hear the big game with radio coverage on 92.7 YERT FM.
