The White County Middle School golf teams added another strong showing to the season Thursday afternoon, with the Warriorettes continuing to set the pace and the boys turning in a solid runner-up finish.
On the girls side, White County kept its unbeaten run intact, topping both Avery Trace and Smith County with a team score of 75. It was another balanced effort across the lineup, but the day belonged to Piper Heady. Heady earned low medalist honors with a round of 37, marking yet another first-place finish in what has been a standout season.
She wasn’t alone at the top of the leaderboard. Ava Elrod followed closely behind with a 38 to claim second place, giving White County the top two individual scores of the match. Rowan Hutson rounded out the team scoring with a 54, helping secure the team victory and extend the undefeated streak.
The boys team also turned in a competitive outing, finishing second overall with a team score of 180. Avery Trace claimed the top spot with a 166, while Smith County finished third at 215.
Individually, Stone Whitson led the way for White County with a 43. Gaige Evans carded a 45, while Lane Dickerson and Benji Johnson each posted rounds of 46. Kyson Taylor completed the scoring with a 51 as the Warriors stayed within striking distance throughout the match.
Both teams will be back on the course Monday when they return home to Sparta Country Club for their final regular season match.
