The White County Middle School softball team took control early and never let go Tuesday night. The Warriorettes allowed six hits, but kept Overton County off the scoreboard in a 7-0 road win.

White County did most of its damage in the second inning. Bella Rosell-Diaz led off with a double, and walks to Jordan Wright and Carli Goines loaded the bases. Rosell-Diaz later stole home, and Sofia Austin drew another walk to keep the pressure on. Dreu Segraves followed with a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0.

Addison Finley broke it open from there, driving in three runs with a bases-clearing double before coming home herself on a steal to stretch the lead to 6-0.

The Warriorettes threatened again in the third after singles from Kinsley Randall and Goines, along with Austin being hit by a pitch, loaded the bases. A double play ended the inning before any runs could cross.

White County added its final run in the fifth. Rosell-Diaz singled to start the inning and moved into scoring position before Goines brought her home with an infield single after two outs.

Kambrie Tayes went the distance in the circle, allowing six hits while striking out six to secure the shutout.

The win moves the Warriorettes to 14-3 on the season as they prepare for a trip to Upperman on Thursday.
