The White County Middle School Warriorettes kept their early-season momentum rolling Thursday night with a decisive 17–0 win over Cumberland County, powered by an explosive 11-run second inning and dominant pitching from start to finish.

White County set the tone early in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on steady contact and aggressive baserunning. Addison Finley opened the scoring with an RBI double before Josslyn Wright drew a bases-loaded walk. Kinsley Randall followed with a two-run single, and Sophia Austin added a two-run double to put the Warriorettes firmly in control.

The second inning widened the gap even further. Finley tripled to bring in a run, Paizlee Taylor sent a two-run homer over the left-field fence, and consecutive run-producing plays—ranging from walks to a fielder’s choice—kept pressure on the defense. Finley added a two-run single later in the frame, and Wright delivered a two-run triple to cap the outburst.

In the circle, White County’s pitching staff allowed nothing to build against them. The two pitchers combined for a no-hit, no-run effort across three innings.

One of the night’s most encouraging moments came in the bottom of the third, when eighth grader Izzy Sherman stepped into the varsity circle for the first time. Sherman needed only 10 pitches to strike out all three hitters she faced, closing the game with a perfect inning and a glimpse of what she may bring to the program moving forward.

The Warriorettes continue to look sharp early in the season and will return to action next week when they head to Algood on Monday before starting a two-game homestand for the latter part of the week.
