White County residents have a trusted local resource when it comes to keeping children safe on the road.
The White County Sheriff’s Office continues to serve as a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) installation and inspection site, offering parents and caregivers a reliable place to have car seats properly installed or checked. The program is designed to ensure that child safety seats are installed correctly and that families have access to guidance on best practices for transporting children safely.
The department recently expanded its team of certified technicians, strengthening its ability to serve the community. Sgt. Araneo, Deputy Bivens, Warrants Officer Horne, and Lt. Meyers have each completed four days of specialized training and are now certified CPSTs.
With their certification, the sheriff’s office now has additional personnel trained to assist families with proper car seat installation and inspection. The expanded team will help ensure that parents and caregivers have consistent access to trained technicians who can answer questions and verify that car seats are installed correctly.
Residents who would like assistance can stop by the sheriff’s office lobby or call ahead to schedule an appointment with a technician. CPST services are available Monday through Friday.
