For a few minutes Friday night, White County had to adjust.
Soddy Daisy came out moving the football on its opening possession, and head coach David Foster said the Warriors needed some time to adjust to the speed of a game that counted after weeks of practices and scrimmages.
“It took us a little bit to get used to the speed of the game,” Foster said. “Their first drive took us some time. If they had converted that fourth down, it could have been a completely different game.”
They didn't.
White County got the stop, its offense quickly took control and the Warrior defense settled in from there, holding Soddy Daisy to just six points in a 49-6 season-opening victory.
The final defensive numbers show just how disruptive the Warriors became.
