The White County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new vocational training initiative at the White County Jail aimed at helping incarcerated individuals gain valuable job skills while preparing for life after release.

Sheriff Steve Page announced the kickoff of the Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) program, a nationally recognized certification designed to prepare participants for entry-level careers in the manufacturing industry.

The program is made possible through a partnership with Orijin, Tooling U-SME, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Office of Reentry, Adult Education, and the Upper Cumberland Workforce Board.
