Even though the White County Middle School baseball team collected two hits to the Algood Middle Redskins' one, they still fell 4-1 on Tuesday as they played on the road.
The Warriors struck first when Cayden Boswell, who had got on base thanks to a walk, scored on a catcher error in the top of the first inning. But Algood would answer in their half of the inning when a bases loaded single drove in two runs for the Redskins.
Three walks scattered among some pop ups, dropped third strikes, and ground balls would push two more Algood runs across the plate in the bottom of the second inning, and then neither team would get another baserunner for the remainder of the game.
The loss moves the Warriors to 4-3. All three White County losses have been relatively low-scoring affairs as they’ve scored a combined eight runs across those games with their opponents scoring a combined 15 runs. In their wins, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 59-13.
White County will be back on the field on Thursday when they get a chance to avenge last night’s loss as they host Algood in the second half of the away-home series.
