White County Middle School opens season with 34-6 road win

White County Middle School couldn't have asked for a much better start to the 2026 football season as they traveled to Prescott on Thursday night and came home with a convincing 34-6 victory.

The Warriors led just 14-6 at halftime before pulling away after the break. White County found its rhythm in the second half as the offense cleaned up mistakes and continued to wear down the Prescott defense.

Quarterback Eston Humphrey set the tone offensively, finding the end zone four times on the ground as White County consistently moved the chains and turned long drives into points. Running back Julian Seely added another rushing touchdown, to keep the Warrior offense rolling throughout the night.

If there was a bright spot for Prescott, it didn't come against White County's defense.

The Warriors kept the opposing offense out of the end zone all evening, with the only touchdown allowed coming on a special teams return. It spoiled what otherwise would have been a complete shutout by a defensive unit that consistently won the battle at the line of scrimmage and put the offense in favorable field position.

Even with the decisive win, there were areas head coach Aaron Brown wants to see improve.

"It's typically what you expect in the first game of the season," Brown said. "A lot of kids learning how to play in a varsity game. There were communication issues and penalties that negated two touchdowns. All of those things can be corrected, though. We are just going to continue to work on getting better and hopefully be a pretty hard team to beat once we get it all dialed in."

The Warriors will host Algood Middle School next Thursday, Aug. 20, for their home opener.
