The White County Middle School Warriors are back in the win column. After dropping four straight, the Warriors snapped their skid in a big way Monday night, rolling to a 15-3 road win over Prescott South.

White County didn’t waste any time setting the tone. In the top of the first inning, Cayden Boswell led things off with a double, and Jack Dicus followed with a walk. Ryder Staggs then cleared the bases with a triple and came home just three pitches later when Aiden Short lined a single into center field. Just like that, the Warriors were in front 3-0.

They kept the pressure on in the second. Samuel Price worked a four-pitch walk to start the inning and scored on a Haskell Simmons triple. Simmons later crossed the plate on a wild pitch, stretching the lead to five.

In the third, Noah Teeple singled to get things going, and a string of hit-by-pitches forced in another run as White County pushed its lead to six.

Prescott South finally answered in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on an error, a dropped third strike, and aggressive base running to plate two runs. But any momentum was short-lived.

The Warriors broke the game wide open in the fourth.

With the bases loaded, Teeple delivered a two-run single. Price followed with a walk, and Tate Pinion ripped a triple to drive in two more. Pinion later scored on a Simmons single as White County continued to pile it on. A mix of walks, hits, and a Prescott South error helped the Warriors tack on nine runs in the inning, putting the game out of reach at 15-2.

The Bulldogs managed to push across one more run in the bottom of the frame, but it did little to slow down White County, who closed out the 15-3 win.

On the mound, Kolton Sanders got the start and earned the win, going 2.2 innings while allowing just two hits and two unearned runs. He struck out six. Zade Brown came on in relief in the third and finished things off, giving up one hit and one run while striking out two.

White County now turns its attention to a home-and-away series with Avery Trace. The Warriors will host Tuesday in Sparta before traveling to Cookeville on Thursday. They’ll wrap up the week with a Saturday doubleheader against DeKalb West.
