For a long time, Cookeville week meant something very different in White County.

The rivalry was there. The 17 miles of Highway 111 separating the two schools were the same. The tradition, the emotion and the desire to beat the team on the other end of that highway were all there.

The wins, however, usually belonged to Cookeville.

That has changed.

White County picked up a decisive 41-13 win over the Cavaliers in 2021, and since 2020, the series has been split evenly with three wins apiece. The Warriors took the most recent meeting, beating Cookeville 21-7 last season.

Friday night, they get another chance.
