The White County Middle School soccer team didn’t waste any time making a statement Fridday night.
It took just 25 seconds.
That’s how long it took the Warriors to find the back of the net, and from that moment on, there wasn’t much doubt about how this one was going to go. White County controlled the pace, controlled possession, and kept the pressure on the team from Watertown all night long on their way to a 9-0 win.
Brenam Sandlin led the charge with a hat trick, consistently finding space and finishing chances as the Warriors kept piling the points on. Jens Carmichael, Colton Ballew, Tanner Morgan, Micah Hogg, and Brantley Whiten each added a goal of their own, and Watertown added to the total with an own goal during the match.
It wasn’t just about finishing the shot, either. The Warriors' teamwork was on display with no one being greedy.
Sandlin and Hogg each dished out two assists, helping keep the ball moving and the offense balanced as White County got contributions from all over the field.
With the game firmly in hand, it turned into an opportunity to clean some things up and get others involved.
"t was a good night for us to work on some little things that we needed to adjust and it was a great opportunity for some of our JV players to get some experience at the varsity level," head coach Justin Rittenerry said. "Overall I am pleased with the result, but we now have to turn our attention to Upperman."
White County will be back in action on March 30 against Upperman, and it’ll also be 8th Grade Night. Festivities are set to begin at 5:30 p.m..
