It came two weeks later than expected, but Main Street Live’s 2025 season finally got started Friday night at Security Federal Savings Bank’s West Lawn with classic rock group Legacy. After two weeks of cancellations due to rain, the free summer concert series started on a fitting day - the official start of summer.

Legacy performed a variety of classic rock favorites for an estimated crowd of 1,100 - 1,200. Main Street McMinnville organizers were pleased to get the much-anticipated series of concerts going and anticipate building momentum through the scheduled end of the series on July 25.

“We’re just really excited,” Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Jennifer Flatt Meredith said. “We were out here sweating getting everything set up, then the vendors started coming in and I got excited. We love it. It’s a lot of work but it’s a lot of fun. It was like, yay! It’s finally happening!”

Next week, weather permitting, marks the return of the Battle of the Bands. August Lows, Memory Train and Sunset Tabernacle will compete for a $500 prize and a chance to play in a Main Street Live show next year.

The band with the most votes will be declared the winner, and the crowd will determine the winner with its donations. Each dollar donated to Main Street McMinnville in the name of a band will count as one vote for the group, with the money helping ensure the continuation of Main Street Live as a free event.

Main Street Live is presented by Main Street McMinnville and is sponsored by Main Street Media, Security Federal Savings Bank, Main Street McMinnville, Bridgestone, McMinnville Electric System, Scooter's Coffee, Dr Pepper, Ben Lomand Connect, Law Offices of Galligan & Newman, Warren County, City of McMinnville, The Cafe at Tree City, The Butcher and Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District.
