McMinnville Community Calendar

- Dayspring Community Church will host "Camp Chaos" Vacation Bible School Friday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 18, beginning at 10 a.m. The event is open to ages 0-12, and will be held at 4295 Smithville Hwy. For more information call Abbi Raper at 931-314-3710.
- The McMinnville Rotary Club will hold its annual River Ride and Clean-up on Saturday, July 18. The free community event will begin with registration from 7:30-9 a.m. at Pepper Branch Park. Volunteers who preregister through the Rotary McMinnville, TN Facebook page will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last, with the first 100 preregistered participants guaranteed a shirt. A complimentary breakfast from Hardee's will be provided for volunteers, and participants will also receive a coupon for $10 off lunch or dinner Saturday at Smooth Rapids. Rotary will provide kayaks or canoes, along with trash bags, gloves, life jackets, safety kits and other necessary equipment. The river cleanup is expected to continue until approximately 11 a.m.
- Westwood Church of Christ will host a free School Store on Saturday, July 18, from 9-11 a.m. in the Westwood Gym at 511 Morrison St in McMinnville. The event, made possible through support from the Steve and Kate Smith Trust, will provide free backpacks and school supplies to local students on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Families attending will also be able to enjoy a light breakfast and bounce houses during the event.
- Rose's Rolling Pin will host a bread-baking workshop on Saturday, July 18, in the Community Room at 110 S Court Square. Three two-hour sessions will be offered from 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. The cost is $55 with a $20 deposit required to reserve a spot. - The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building, 201 Locust St. The meeting will feature a special salute to America's 250th birthday with a Revolutionary War-themed show-and-tell. Attendees are invited to share information about a Revolutionary War ancestor, wear period clothing or red, white and blue attire, and enjoy refreshments. Visitors are welcome.
- The Young Men United and Underdogs Fighting Odds Back to School Bash will be held Saturday, July 18, from 2-5 p.m. at 103 Bernard Dr. The free event will provide backpacks and school supplies to local students while supplies last and will also feature food, games, a photo booth, ice cream, bounce houses and additional family activities. Organizers will also offer prizes, giveaways and gift cards throughout the afternoon as they help local students prepare for the upcoming school year.
- The Van Buren County Fair will host its remaining 2026 4-H Fun Shows on Saturday, July 18, Saturday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds, 288 Spring St in Spencer. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with each show starting at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available through Van Buren County 4-H.
- The Viola Fire Department and Viola Homecoming will host a truck and tractor pull Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at 10301 Viola Rd. to benefit the local fire department. MTPA and TPA sanctioned classes will be in action, as well as two unsanctioned classes. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12. Kids 5 and under will be admitted free. UPDATE: Event postponed until August 22.
- Registration is open for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Fall 2026 season through July 19. Late registration will be available July 20-26. The registration fee is $70 per child, with additional children in the same family discounted to $65 each. The league offers divisions ranging from U3/U4 through U15-U18. Age groups are determined by birth year, and players must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 29 to participate. Registration information is available through McMinnville Parks and Recreation and McMinnville Youth Soccer.
- Vacation Bible School will be held Sunday through Tuesday, July 19-21, at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, 1137 W Green Hill Rd. Activities are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. Dinner will be provided, and the community is invited to attend.
- Arlington Church of Christ, 2500 Faulkner Springs Rd, will host Vacation Bible School from Sunday, July 19, through Wednesday, July 22. Classes begin nightly at 7 p.m. and will focus on the theme "Epic Earthquakes."
- First Baptist Church, 403 N Spring St, will host its "Rainforest Falls" Vacation Bible School beginning with a Special Needs VBS on Sunday, July 19, from 5:30-8 p.m. for ages 4 and up. Traditional VBS will follow Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23, from 5:30-8 p.m. nightly for children ages 4 through completed fifth grade. A VBS Family Night will be held Friday, July 24. - The Warren County Commission full court meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20 in the County Courtroom of the Warren County Administrative Building on 201 Locust St.
- Northside Baptist Church, 1574 Yager Rd, will host its "Illumination Station" Vacation Bible School Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. nightly. Registration will be held from 5-5:25 p.m. each evening. The program is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. - Gath Baptist Church, is holding a Vacation Bible School July 20-24 from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. each night. This year’s theme is “Junkyard Redemption: God’s Master Plan to Remake our Broken World.” It is described as an exciting and interactive learning experience for children aged 2-12. - The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Pump N Pay East on Thursday, July 23, at 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at the business, located at 2465 Sparta St, and is open to the public.
- Prayer at the Fountain will be held Thursday, July 23, at 7 p.m. at the fountain in downtown McMinnville. The event will feature worship music led by Destinee and Matthew Dasaro, with a message from Pastor David Kilgore. Those unable to attend in person can watch online through the Prayer at the Fountain Facebook group. For more information, contact Debbie Young at (931) 259-2054.
- Pray4TN will host a community prayer service on Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m. at the Warren County Farmers Market Pavilion, 100 Market St. The public is invited to attend for a time of prayer and fellowship.
- The annual Armstrong Cemetery Picnic will be held Saturday, July 25, at 2461 Northcutt Cove Rd. Food and a bake sale begin at 10 a.m., with an auction at 6 p.m. Organizers also invite attendees to participate in a raffle and ask those attending to bring an item to donate for the auction. - The Three Twenty-One Tribe Motor Ministry will host its annual "Pennies From Pennie" Memorial Benefit Ride on Saturday, July 25. The ride departs at 10 a.m. from the Sparta Civic Center, 514 E.W. Bockman Way in Sparta, with a midway stop at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Spencer. All vehicles are welcome, and participation is by donation. Proceeds from this year's ride will benefit Bentley Moore and his family as Bentley battles Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare genetic disease.
- The Church of Christ at Bethlehem, 5544 Old State Hwy 111 in Spencer, will host its "Fruit Full" Vacation Bible School from Sunday, July 26, through Thursday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m. nightly. Outdoor games and activities begin at 6 p.m., worship services start at 6:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served each evening. Classes are free and open to all ages.
- The Warren County Health Department will offer a Stay Active and Independent for Life (S.A.I.L.) class beginning Monday, July 27, at the Warren County Health Department, located at 1410 Sparta St, Suite 21 in McMinnville. The evidence-based strength and balance fitness program is designed for adults ages 65 and older and will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m. through Oct. 15. - McMinnville Electric System and the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a Blood Assurance community blood drive on Monday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McMinnville Electric System, 206 W Main St. Donors are encouraged to eat a good meal, drink plenty of water, avoid energy drinks and bring a photo ID. All donors will receive a $25 gift card.
- The Warren County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St.
- The Warren County Memorial Airport Meeting will take place on Monday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at 48 Airport Rd.
- The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for TechHelp Solutions & Data LLC on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at Three Star Mall, Suite 12 (the former GNC location), 1410 Sparta St, and is open to the public.
- Registration is underway for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League and will continue through Aug. 9 at the Milner Recreation Center. The league fee is $80 per player, and all participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. - The Warren County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Early Voting Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St.
- The Warren County Senior High School Class of 1975 will hold its class reunion Saturday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at Helen's on the Green, located at 616 Country Club Dr. The cost is $30 per person. Classmates are asked to RSVP by Aug. 1 by emailing Classof1975wctn@gmail.com or by submitting payment through the organizers.
- Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market St, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
