·       Main Street Live!, the local concert series sponsored by Main Street McMinnville, will return to the west lawn beside Security Federal Friday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. with a make-up performance by the TC Bryant Band which had initially been scheduled for June 6 before being postponed by inclement weather. The series provides free concerts on the west lawn of Security Federal throughout June and July, with vendors opening at 6 p.m. before the show begins. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

·       The Pioneerette Princess Tea Party will be held Sunday, July 27, from 2-4 p.m. at the West Elementary Gym at 400 Clark Blvd. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite princess attire and join in for an afternoon of pampering, crafts, princesses and tea party snacks. Each princess will receive a crown, wand and goody bag, and will have a chance to meet their favorite princesses. Cost is $30 for early registration, and $35 the day of the event. ·       The Black History Museum of Warren County, TN will hold a fundraiser yard sale Saturday, Aug. 23, at their location at 203 W. Main St. For more information, call 931-304-8851.

·       The Junior Auxiliary will hold a membership social Thursday, July 31, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Oh Sugar, located at 410 N. Chancery St. Sweets and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees will be able to apply to join the JA as they learn more about the group and its projects by speaking with members.

·       “Stuff the Bus McMinnville,” a school supply drive sponsored by United Way of South Central Tennessee, will be held July 25-27, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Walmart at 915 S. Chancery St.  Items needed include scissors, crayons, composition notebooks, hygiene items, index cards, pencil cases, erasers, tissues, Lysol wipes, Ziploc bags, backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, colored pencils, headphones, earbuds, folders, binders, wide and college ruled paper, glue sticks, and graph paper. ·       Caring Hearts United will present “A Variety of Memories,” a performance of music from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, Saturday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Park Theater. ·       The Warren County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting Monday, Aug. 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building at 201 Locust St. The group meets the first Monday of each month.

·       The Warren County Genealogical Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, Aug. 16, from 2-4 p.m. at the County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. The WCGHS meets the third Saturday of each month offering a different program or speaker. ·       Families in Crisis – New Beginnings will host its bi-monthly sexual assault support group meeting Thursday, Aug. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at 101 W. Main St. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. Come feel at home with other survivors, receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem, and learn coping skills to empower them, for wherever they are in their journey.

·       The Warren County Master Gardeners’ Association will meet Thursday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. The WCMGA meets the third Thursday of each month, gathering at the fairgrounds during summer months and at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building during the rest of the year. ·       The Warren County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 21, from 6-7 p.m. in the early voting room of the Warren County Administration Building on Locust St. The group meets the third Thursday of each month to promote personal liberties and conservative values, as well as discuss and execute ideas to elect conservatives to local city and county government.

·       The Warren County Health Department will host a Community Baby Shower on Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Three Star Mall, located at 1410 Sparta Street in McMinnville. This free event will provide valuable prenatal information, along with giveaways and light refreshments for attendees. No registration is required to attend. ·       Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
