The Warren County 6–8 grade girls basketball league continues to deliver competitive and entertaining games, with a slate highlighted by statement wins, defining stretches and early positioning battles in the standings. From dominant starts to gritty road performances, the week offered a clear snapshot of where teams are headed as the regular season begins to take shape.

Centertown remains the gold standard. The Lady Warriors stayed unbeaten and firmly in first place by overpowering both Irving College and Morrison, using fast starts and relentless defense to control each matchup. Against Irving College, Centertown jumped out early and never let the Lady Tigers settle in, while Thursday’s road win at Morrison featured a balanced scoring effort and perimeter shooting that stretched the Lady Eagles from the opening quarter. The wins pushed the Lady Warriors to the top of the standings and extended a winning streak that continues to define the league.

Behind them, Irving College continues to look like the clear challenger. The Lady Tigers handled Dibrell with ease Thursday and have shown the ability to win both grind-it-out games and more comfortable matchups. Morrison also made noise with a strong road victory at Eastside and battled Centertown hard in spurts, while Boyd took another step forward by pulling away from Eastside after a dominant first quarter and showing continued growth after a slow start to the season.

Across the board, the week showcased the depth of talent in the league. Guards pushed the tempo, posts controlled the paint and defenses dictated long stretches of play. With Centertown sitting alone atop the standings, Irving College close behind and the middle of the pack tightening, the early-season race is already taking shape — and every possession is starting to matter.

The Main Street Journal is proud to recognize the standout performances from the week with our Girls Players of the Week, honoring those who helped shape the storylines during a pivotal stretch of the schedule. This recognition is made possible thanks to Triple B Nursery, Crisp Springs Market, Prince HVAC, TEH Construction, Pioneer Lanes and Sara Collins with Tree City Realty.

BOYD – RAIN CURTIS

Curtis delivered her most complete week of the season, leading Boyd with seven points in Thursday’s win over Eastside and adding eight more in the Lady Broncos’ breakout victory over Dibrell earlier in the week. She consistently pushed the pace, knocked down a key third-quarter 3-pointer against Dibrell and helped Boyd establish control early against Eastside. Curtis’ energy on both ends has been a major reason the Lady Broncos are trending upward.

CENTERTOWN – TENLEE MEDLEY

Medley made her impact felt in multiple ways during another perfect week for the Lady Warriors. She drilled two first-quarter 3-pointers against Morrison to spark an early run and finished with eight points, then added seven more in Centertown’s win over Irving College. Her perimeter shooting and defensive effort continue to be vital pieces of a lineup that thrives on balance and execution.

DIBRELL – JAYDEN TOY

Toy was a steady presence for Dibrell in a challenging week, leading the Lady Wildcats with four points against Boyd and contributing in multiple areas despite tough defensive matchups. She showed confidence attacking the basket and remained active on the defensive end as Dibrell battled through a demanding stretch of the schedule.

EASTSIDE – KARIGAN PATRICK

Patrick stood out as Eastside’s most reliable scorer and competitor, finishing with six points against Boyd and continuing to show growth as a playmaker and finisher. She broke through Eastside’s scoring drought Thursday and provided consistent effort throughout the week, helping anchor a young Lady Bulldogs group that continues to gain valuable experience.

IRVING COLLEGE – JOSIE HERTWIG

Hertwig made her mark as a steady contributor during a busy week for the Lady Tigers, scoring in the win over Dibrell and providing strong defensive effort in both matchups. Her ability to do the little things - defending, moving without the ball and finishing around the rim - continues to make her a dependable piece for one of the league’s top contenders.

MORRISON – FAITH SADLON

Sadlon provided steady contributions during a busy week for the Lady Eagles, scoring in Morrison’s win over Eastside and continuing to play an important supporting role against Centertown. She competed on the glass, defended with purpose and helped Morrison maintain balance behind its primary scorers.
