White County’s footprint in Tennessee’s fire service leadership is growing again, with another local firefighter stepping into a key statewide role — and adding to what has become an unusually strong presence from a single volunteer department.

Jason Sparks, a White County native, has been named Executive Director of the Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy, placing him at the helm of the state’s primary training institution for firefighters, inspectors and emergency personnel.
