Late Saturday night, what began as a routine maneuver in a dirt lot ended with a dump truck on its side after its raised bed became entangled in overhead power lines.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:42 p.m. Sunday, July 26, along Old Smithville Highway in White County. The driver was able to escape the truck without injury, but the unusual crash required an extended response as emergency crews worked to safely recover the vehicle.
