There’s no scoreboard for the kind of work these men and women do, but if there were, every coach in the Warren County 3–5 grade boys basketball league would be a champion. The growth of the league - and the kids within it - starts with the people who work long hours for little-to-no pay to teach the game the right way.

They are the ones in the gym before the lights come on and after everyone’s gone home, setting up drills, sketching out rotations and breaking down tape to help a 9-year-old understand how to box out or run a zone. They turn chaos into structure and energy into execution. Their job isn’t just about teaching how to win now (although everybody loves a winner) - it’s about building habits, discipline and confidence that will carry these kids through middle school, high school and beyond.

Every pass, every defensive slide, every huddle moment matters. These coaches are planting the seeds for the next generation of Pioneers and Broncos - the future of basketball in Warren County. They pour into their players daily, balancing instruction with encouragement, and helping each kid discover that spark that keeps them coming back to the court.

So this week, we shine the spotlight on the real foundation of the league - the coaches who make it all possible.

Each week, the Main Street Journal proudly recognizes Players of the Week from across the county, celebrating the effort, leadership and community that fuel youth basketball in Warren County.
