McMinnville resident and Warren County native Elsie Earlene Keener, 92, was born April 19, 1934 and died April 28, 2026 at her residence following an extended illness.
A homemaker and member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Lassie Taylor Pickett. She was married March 21, 1958 to Clarence Keener who preceded her in death in March of 1977. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joel Keener; daughter, Duana Keener and six siblings, Edward, Gene, James and Melvin Pickett, Emalene Keener and Mary Barrett.
Mrs. Keener is survived by three children, Douglas (Joyce) Keener of McMinnville, Rita Norris of Rock Island and Lori (Anthony) Ellis of McMinnville; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda (Trent) Anderson and Erma (Dan) Fitch both of the Irving College Community and Sadie Sullivan of Rock Island and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek with Jeremy Meyer officiating. There will be no public visitation at High's. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery Thursday for the graveside service.
