Nearly three years after a fire forced months of repairs and relocation, Sparta Flowers & Gifts was once again damaged by fire Wednesday evening.
A passerby noticed smoke coming from the roof of Sparta Flowers & Gifts Wednesday afternoon, prompting a call to 911. The fire came during widespread Verizon service outages that affected much of the area. While some responders did not immediately receive the notification, enough firefighters and emergency personnel arrived quickly to keep the building from becoming a total loss.
