NEWS RELEASE:
The faculty, staff and administration of Cumberland County High School are pleased to announce Frances Brooks as the 2026 Hall of Fame inductee.
For decades, Frances Brooks has generously given her time, resources, experience, and, most importantly, her heart to the students of Cumberland County High School and to the Cumberland County community. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone who continues to invest so deeply in the lives of young women and whose influence reaches far beyond a single event or season. Her impact can be seen in the confidence, character, and pride she helps instill in the young ladies she serves.
Frances has a remarkable and deeply rooted history with Cumberland County High School. In the early 1970s, she served as secretary to Principal Don Eberhart, representing our school with professionalism, dedication, and pride. She was also a Red Devil majorette and later coached our majorette squad for several years. For many years, she graciously served as the emcee of the long-standing CCHS Sweetheart Pageant and played an important role in guiding and encouraging our young ladies to success. Her commitment to CCHS truly spans generations.
Today, many of us continue to admire Frances as the emcee of the Fairest of the Fair pageant. While the contestants were the ones in the spotlight, Frances was quietly helping make their experience possible.
The countless hours she has invested in these young women over the years are difficult to measure. She has helped families navigate what can be an intimidating world of pageantry, offering guidance, encouragement, and reassurance along the way. She has helped countless hometown girls find success, but those successes cannot simply be measured by crowns, titles, or sashes. The true measure of her work can be seen in the confidence she builds, the pride she inspires, the joy she creates, and the sense of belonging she gives these young women.
What makes Frances Brooks so deserving of this recognition is not simply the length of her service, but the consistency and genuine care behind it. She has continued to show up, year after year and generation after generation, because she believes in our young people and wants to see them succeed. Her influence is woven into the history of Cumberland County High School and the lives of so many young women in our Community.
A Hall of Fame Reception honoring Ms. Frances Brooks will be held in the CCHS Library beginning at 3:15pm. Light refreshments will be served.
