A new boutique officially opened its doors in downtown Sparta, bringing locally made products, apparel and handmade gifts to White County.

Georgia Dawn’s, located at 25 N. Main St. and owned by Emma and Garrett Hayes, celebrated its ribbon cutting and soft opening Friday afternoon ahead of the boutique’s official grand opening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The boutique features a mix of jewelry, clothing, devotionals, gifts and everyday essentials, with a strong focus on supporting local makers and small businesses.

“It’s a place where customers can shop unique, locally made finds they won’t see everywhere else, all while supporting our community and surrounding areas,” owner Emma Hayes said.

The storefront marks a longtime goal for Hayes, who has operated her online business, The Modern Iris, since 2019.

“Opening a storefront has always been a dream of mine,” Hayes explained. “God has truly opened doors for us to make that happen now.”

In addition to products from local vendors, Georgia Dawn’s also carries handmade items created by Hayes herself, including hats, clay jewelry and specialty products. Customers will also find locally made candles, goat milk soap, skincare items and laundry soap.

“I truly love everything about Georgia Dawn’s, but especially being part of this community of small businesses,” Hayes said. “Sparta feels like the perfect place for a store like this.”

Following Saturday’s grand opening, Georgia Dawn’s will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
