James Aaron Bowdoin, 78

Sparta resident and Warren County native James Aaron Bowdoin,78, was born July 2, 1946 and died June 17, 2025 at NHC Healthcare in Sparta following an extended illness.

A retired employee of A.O. Smith and a member of Bonner Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Julius and Zona Parsley Bowdoin. Mr. Bowdoin was married to Lois Jeannie Bowdoin who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Jean Jacobs and Shirley Morton and brothers, Julius, Billy and Harold Bowdoin.

Mr. Bowdoin is survived by sons, Justin (Melissa) Bowdoin of Chesapeake, VA and Aaron Bowdoin of Altamont, Tenn.; daughter, Heather (Terry) Clark of Rock Island; step-son, Brett (Valerie) Coffman of McMinnville; step-daughter, Beth (Billy) Brock of McMinnville; grandchildren, Tyler and Trace Clark, Mikah, Keeley and Aubrey Bowdoin, Kanyon Coffman and Dillon King.

Funeral service will be held at noon Friday, June 20, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Tim Long officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
