A waterfall tucked away along the shoreline of Center Hill Lake now carries a name that will preserve the legacy of one of White County's most recognizable outdoorsmen for generations to come.

The U.S. Board on Geographic Names officially approved the designation of Rogers Falls on Thursday, June 11, giving federal recognition to a previously unnamed waterfall located in a cove between Pates Ford Marina and Horseshoe Bend.

The new name honors Edd Rogers, a longtime White County businessman, outdoorsman and supporter of the Center Hill Lake community whose impact is still felt throughout the region's fishing community.
